The Freelancer Market - But what does it look like?

The Ultimate Client

The exchange of a ‘contract for services’ between the Freelancer and the Agency/End User Client is the first step in the revenue generating process that accompanies delivery of those services. This exchange then triggers the need for other providers of Professional Services to participate in peripheral but much needed, complementary transactions.

The IFA-supported Freelancer Market facilitates the initial contact between the Agent and the Freelancer and promotes through multiple conduits, such as Job Diamond, advertising, preferred membership listings, e-marketing and other forms of introductions, suppliers who have a history of Freelance Business Support, thus establishing the second tier of business relationships.

Freelancers have many needs many of them operational. They often require offices and office equipment/stationary, IT and Trade Equipment and by the nature of their mobility, associated logistics services in the form of travel and accommodation. This third tier of business relationship is made viable through IFA bulk buying power and discounted agreements. This third tier need not be the traditional one-off purchase, but through IFA agreements and membership discounts, brand identification and loyalty positioning, future purchasing trends can be established.

Governments, industry groups, pressure groups and associations all have a profound interest in the successful operation of this Marketplace. There will of course be vested interests but ultimately those with true influence will exercise the need to recognise that the Marketplace needs to be managed in the interests of the Freelancer community.

The whole Market process ceases to function when the transaction stimulus (i.e. cash flow between Agency and Freelancer) stops thus demonstrating the revolving and renewing aspect of contracts for the Freelancer, is the driving component of the Freelancer Market. This is our ethos which is underpinned by our investment in Job Diamond Technology.

The message we must take on board from all of the above is that Freelancers are everyone’s ultimate Client and that the IFA Freelancer Market is our global enterprise platform.
